They abandoned Q3 for ET, but since project was not maintained for more than a year it is doubtful this will ever actually evolve into a finished game. Still, you can download pre-alpha which is based on Q3 and test it out.

damn, hard to believe they pushed the q3 engine like that.. reminds me of source engine. looks like they made the lightning gun model look like the q1 lg +1

Yes, it really looks great. LG is definitely based on Q1 LG, same feel and same design.
