Yes, but you see what i mean? People are afraid of destructive forces, yet in the Universe you need both, creative and destructive in order to create. It is not enough to embrace peace, it eventually leads to stagnation and death. Perhaps Buddha didn't want this and he decided to sit under a tree and do absolutely nothing. Except eating all the food farmers brought to him. :)

One could argue the destruction is as equally breathtaking though off-topic.
Is religion good for children?
My useless, uneducated, unfounded opinion: no.

No opinion is useless.

Uneducated? I don't know, depends how much research you have done on the topic.

Unfounded? Usually not. Most peoples opinion is based on something. *Something*
It's the *Something* that I would want to question. People hold various beliefs for all kinds of different *something(s)*

As I mentioned earlier in the thread - this doesn't affect what is actually the case and what is not :)

And Craij, this post isn't targeted at you in any way, it's just a general post. I thought your post above was interesting and probably reflects how a lot of people value their own opinion. :D

I think this debate could be much deeper than on that show. Usually argument is about if something few thousand years ago really happened or not, but i think more important is to ask ourselves where children will learn about ethics and how to be gentlemen. From MTV most certainly not. No wonder society goes to shit. Sure, we don't need theocracy, but we need to clean this society, this is why you all should support Scientology. :-D

Topic: Is Religion Good For Children?

I guess I figured this topic was to ask the question and show a debate on the subject in an effort to start one here. Thus, in the end, being an expression of each individual's opinion who 1) might stumble upon this thread and 2) might be a member of this community/forum. Guess it was just an infomercial post then, eh? Did I misinterpret its purpose? If so, I apologize... regardless, all you will ever see on this subject is a collection of opinions.

It's a very complicated topic. For debate, it needs to be around one aspect of the subject at a time, to address the whole thing in one go is impossible. I do a bit of this, albeit informally and thoroughly enjoy it.

@Craij - not really sure what you're talking about in your last post there dude. Do you mean that it's only ever a matter of opinion?

Also less known than Anonymous, but perhaps more dedicated, and certainly more organized, The Immortals.

Scientology considers itself a religion, but it doesn't mention God much, only so-called thetans, either body theatans one should get rid of, or operating thetan one can become after spending around $300,000 on various courses, called The Bridge to Total Freedom. Freedom from money i guess. :-D

That movie i posted is very good, based on true events. Also there is a lot of info, secret documents, personal stories of people who escaped and other interesting stuff on WhyWeProtest Anonymous forum. Anonymous is fighting Scientology for 4+ years already, organizing protests, helping people who want to escape it, and those who are being harassed by Scilons for revealing info or trying to escape. There are a lot of videos on YT, either with info on them or from former members.

I am also Anonymous, so anyone who wants to join let me know. There is no formal membership, anyone can join but in order to filter out noobs you should find more info on the web first. In some countries declaring yourself Anonymous could be illegal, especially Bahrain where they jail protesters for decades for basically nothing. That regime is then sending money to the CNN (and others) to appear progressive and tolerant in the public view. See, this is how fuckers get favorable news coverage.

Arte Magazin - OSA THE EYE OF SCIENTOLOGY / AUGE VON SCIENTOLOGY [subbed]

We can move this to a new thread later, but it is still relevant to this topic. They harass people, keep children separated from parents, and so on. Check videos posted.

They want war in the Middle-East and societal chaos elsewhere, so people get tired of everything and accept new forms of government. They also want to destroy atheism, besides Islam and Christianity.

the goal is to create the human as soulless creature. brainwashed and lobotomized.
well - this plan will be doomed to failure. like all the other idiotism in the past and in future.
it depends on a good quantity of illuminance....and clarification of the scene.

Also society in present form with all the escalating problems is doomed to failure. New order they envision is not exactly soviet-style police state, but it may turn into that, just like the first "revolutionaries" (financed by bankers) didn't think of gulags & genocide initially, but they were supporting it later. They still support it now and this is why they must be destroyed or else everyone will die. Sometimes there must be a storm, so later people can illuminate in peace. Many so-called idiotisms are nothing else than propaganda of ruling elites against the true revolutionaries of the past. Do not believe them -- on lies they create their empire of shit. :-D
