Thank you! :)

Forum email was half-online, now it is fixed. It sends emails through Gmail, which is great for delivery and various filters. It also uses TLS (HTTPS) at every step, something often overlooked on other forums. Secure communication is a must when passwords are being reset, and for other sensitive data.

Olá Dyn. É bom saber que você está vivo.

Será que o VAT está falando sério? Eu achei estranha a atitude dele achar estranho. :) É melhor eu parar de falar se não vou acabar causando. rsrsrsrs

i still check in but haven't played q3 in a while -- mostly because i'm mostly using trackpads and that doesn't work very well for q3 haha.

Back in Q1 days, from 1996 on (almost 20 years ago !!), some people did play with keyboard only, believe it or not. Not sure what was the reasoning behind it, i think most games before Quake were playable with keyboard only, because there was no real 3D movement in them -- ok, this i know, but i am still not sure why they didn't use mouse after Quake was released. Plus, there were some other great games like Descent which were true 3D. Anyway, i even saw a demo from someone who dominated 10 or so other players using keyboard only. :)

Speaking of Descent, take a look, true 3D game from 1994:

(btw, it was also possible to play without a cockpit)

After i bought a Pentium 166 i was surprised how smoothly it can run this game. Keep in mind this was without 3D acceleration, and there was only 1 CPU core which did everything. First 3D cards (Voodoo) arrived at time Quake 2 was released, that is, 1997. Of course i bought it right away, it made great difference for Q2. See for yourself:

(3D accelerated segment (using OpenGL) starts @ 3:58)

i used to play doom one with only keyboard. i was pretty good at it and tried to stay keyboard-only as long as possible (mostly for nostalgia) but eventually had to move on.

i still haven't found a mouse for q3 that worked as well for me as those old shitty dell mice that came stock with new desktops.

i remember descent though -- i always thought it looked badass but for some reason it was hard as shit for me. it had multiplayer didn't it? think i remember playing a friend of mine over a modem.

AG

Look into the Razer DeathAdder. The 3500 DPI is the preferred model, but look at the 6400 as well.
On Amazon their 30 - 40 bucks.

8-)

Yes, in Descent everything is full 3D including enemy positions and game objectives, so it can get confusing pretty fast. It had multiplayer:

Descent 3 multiplayer was nice too:

I mostly did play single player back then, started with internet multiplayer with Quake 1/QuakeWorld.
