Nice to see 15 players on CTF! :)

There will always be someone camping etc, but i doubt they are able to win with camping alone against skilled players.

MAN I miss CTF. What's great about campers is that it's just a matter of hunting them. There's nowhere to hide, _especially_ with passthru rail enabled. :)

Yea, it's really surprising to see 15+ players on Q3, few days ago it was similar on UK FFA and a lot on US FFA as well. :)

What a trollfest. Why am I never online at such times?
That said, I still think weapons in CTF aren't balanced and favor campers despite the existence of the Phase Rifle (wall rail, you big dummy), especially ctf2. (1.5x current delay on BFG would do the trick, you already get 2 weapons in one so nobody wants to use anything else)

Settings change now and then, sometimes only for a few days, so it is possible not everything is fair and balanced all the time. There are few things which will be changed in default configs, mostly for FFA but it can be for CTF as well. Balancing too much is not necessarily always good.

Emperor, nice to see CTF had more players, 17+ this time. :)
With older games like Quake 3 main problem is patience, people need to join and wait, then others will join as well. Problem is nobody wants to wait, so you have like 40 people joining and rarely 5 of them stay to play the game. We should set some time for players to join, would make things easier.

It may be even more in a few weeks because US server is canceled. COD4 will go, Q3 UK/CTF stays.

That is always welcome. I think we need to set some time for people to join, that way they will know when to expect more players. We did this for Quake 1, because at beginning there was not much players around. Yes, unbelievable as it may sound, not much people even knew what online gaming (or deathmatch) is. Back then Internet had around 40 million users, 50x less than today, and smaller percent of them were gamers. [ stats ]
