yea my main problem is dead bodies flying and laying everywhere :(

there should be a way to set it it instant gib. since thats what the style is anyway. the bodies should just fuckin explode lol. thats the way the rail is set in the other servers, one hit and gibs everywhere.

If there are any bugs with the mod let me know, or did you think something else like his server or maps? Some maps can cause shader problems with other maps, or introduce various "this or that not found" messages in console. Sometimes authors use some well-known texture packs (among map makers) and then forget to tell others which pack they need in order to see all textures properly.

That's easy to do. Just make sure vg_alwaysGib is 1. In config it should be:

set vg_alwaysGib 1


Or in console:

just to clear things up if theres anything wrong or buggy on my server it is because i set something up wrong,
as far as the mod goes theres not a better one out there,i wish it hadnt taken me so long to find it.

if you're going to go so far as to call it "buggy", you could at least list what those things are so they could be addressed.

i experienced one bit of "bugginess"...
ecodavid and i were playing, the level ended but then stuck. we both disconnected and reconnected to start a new match but it stayed with the same level. further, the "podium" of top 3 players from the previous match were still stuck there. it wasn't until we cleared the second round that it reset and loaded the next level. game action was still normal.

I know this, it is misconfiguration or if someone changes certain gametype/settings before map ends. It's one of those cases where server should restart the map, but game design prevents it. It has nothing to do with mod itself, i even was looking into this once. Mod could check if this is about to happen and fix default behavior of Q3, but then again it is not our fault. I will look into it one more time, just to see if there is some elegant solution to it.

Admins: you can change settings and gametypes as desired, this error is very rare.

the new dm17 setup is actually very addicting once you get used to it. good job target

i like how fast the matches are over.. though people should try and even the matches to skill level or its not fair. i think q3dmtourney4 (vertical vengeance) would be a good second map to consider as well

The bugs that was there is no longer a problem. and the only bugs I recalled was me walking off the map and not being able to get back in. And Also I was getting stuck on roof tops. I didnt want to make a big deal of it just left a short comment. no need to make a story out of my comment

1 vs 1 is what we always needed around here. At least that is what I been waiting for. Thanks Target nice job with the map too best map for rail 1 vs 1. Although I may Suggest maybe adding a second map? dm1 is a really nice map for 1 on 1. And I do not know if its possible maybe add a second weapon like Granade launcher. would make it a bit more interesting. Keep up the good work.

Those are original q3 cvars, mod is not classifying those as cheats. It seems to be one of cheat cvars in Q3.

Black is changed to dark blue, fixing buggy color restriction in default q3. ioq3 fixes it too but there are ways to cheat it, although not very practical.

This is map design "bug", nothing to do with the mod. Some map makers are a bit careless and leave parts of map open sometimes.

Mod can disable invisible barriers around map objects, but you need to use +button6 for that, when it is enabled with vg_playerClip 1.

ok lets say i wanted to rotate between 3 maps 1v1 (g_gametype 1) is it possible?
also if it is will the spectators still rotate?
everytime i try it stays on first map

dm1 is ok but the spawns get waay to easy to predict. with only 2 main rooms theres not much strategy especially with pass thru in play. the q3dmtourney maps are perfect for 1v1 theres 5 i think.

another map suggestion. i was just browsing through the maps and i forgot all the ones that came in the vogon pack. this one would be cool as hell to play 1v1 insta on.

well vogon mod still rules but i cant convert anyone i know over to it so for now i went back to insta-unlagged
i did learn a lot from this mod and i thank everyone that helped me with it. lol i kinda feel like a mod whore, anyway
if ever there is a way to have rail jump without vg_rgSD and vg_rgSR then i think more of the old school players would play vogon 1v1 rail. again i want to say thanks

^its also using version 1.30 apparently. so anyone with the final patch trying to connect will get the "server uses protocol 66" error

for anyone interested here a link to a version switcher i just found. im sure theres other servers using old versions as well

good choice ,theres a few different version switchers but the one chaos linked to is the best ive used OFx Q3 Version Switch for a few years now with no problem it even works with ioquake if you rename ioq3.exe to quake3.exe. have a look at the q3 1.16 community youll find some good servers there.alot of clan servers playing TDM,CTF. - here are the only versions worth going to 1.16 - 1.30 and of course 1.32 .

out of curiosity, what does insta-unlagged offer that the vogon mod can't be configured to do? i rarely play on other servers.

for rail jumping, can't you just turn vg_rgsd/sr to something unnoticeable?
