Personal Best - Impressive Club

Postby chaos252 » Sun Jul 17, 2011 05:11 UTC

I like to rail. I have come up with a new way of challenging myself in vogon. pretty simple.. get as many "impressive" awards as I can.

Started counting yesterday. Today i got 28 but I must have tapped the "scroll lock" instead of "print screen" button.. heres a shot from the same game.

I was using pass thru.. but from here on out Im gonna try with normal rail only.
Alt Fire or normal, all the railers out there.. post some screens lets see how many we can get! :)

noone seems to be interested. kinda dissapointed. vogon doesnt track your stats/accuracy like crom and quake live does, wish there was a way it could.

i'd actually turned off the awards thing a long time ago. i didn't know it kept count of how many you got — good idea just for the fun of it.

I have some screenies snapped doing exactly what you are doing, from ages ago when I played quite a lot - I'll see if I can dig them up, think they'd be on my external drive. Good thread!

but listen this isnt me trying to show off, seriously. its just like a mini game i made for myself and thought other railers would have fun trying to beat their own scores.

"Excellent" is for 2 kills within 2 (?) seconds. "Impressive" is for a one hit kill with rail or BFG followed by another one hit kill with rail or BFG without missing (or not killing) in between, ie 2 consecutive shots with two kills.

There's also one for use of the gauntlet, but that's kinda self explanatory. How come you turned them off? Distraction? Irritating?

A lot of players like minimal screen icons etc. I know some who also remove the weapon (cg_drawgun 1/0) because they find it a distraction. If I'm not mistaken Kitty used to play without the gun drawn. I leave most stuff on, but I see why others turn it off.
