It was originally confirmed to be released on May 3, 2011 in North America, with a worldwide release following on May 6, 2011. This has however been delayed by a month to June 10 internationally with a North American release on June 14.

stinky reviews. was telling a friend of mine -- they should have never released it and left the weird mythology to enjoy.

if anything i'd say the Duke is more relevant today than he ever was. in our world of political correctness gone mad, where all kinds of ideas from some loud-mouthed minority demand that we don't do or say this or that so as not to offend anyone, the Duke comes down like a ton of bricks.
for me, DNF is like a playable 1980s Schwarzenegger movie. that's what i wanted from this game, and that's what i got. it's about a badass hero who doesn't give a crap whom he might offend, who does what it takes to get the job done, and who doesn't apologize for killing. "If I promised to kill you last, I lied."
a lot of younger gamers/reviewers seem incapable of dealing with this as they have grown up in an environment of utter political correctness, where plastic forks in school lunch rooms can get you arrested for possession of a deadly weapon and telling a cute co-worker how nice she looks this morning gets you convicted of sexual harassment.
As the Duke says, if you don't like that, eat **** and die.
