We need small and fun maps for CTF. All packs from years ago contain too big maps or some really outdated ones, which we don't want to use. What we need is small maps suitable for 2-6 players.

Map pack should be 200-350 mb in size. Shishisenkou says 350, i say 800 MB but nobody ever listens to me. :)

Woah, I've never seen those maps but they look pretty easy to get around and look absolutely fantastic as well. I REALLY like the 2nd maps environment.

Edit: Q3WCP23 is a map that must stay. This one is small and easy to get around in, love it.

q3wcp16 is fun. Really small and quick, it's the beach level.

Rota is very good level designer, we have rota3dm2 in out FFA map pack included. And there are some more using similar design.

Dyn you need to make a decision on the maps soon because there’s not many people playing anymore on CTF, I think they like smaller maps!

I hate to say it can we go back to the old standard maps because no one is playing ctf. Only me and a few others ! :oldman:

Yes, i agree. CTF is now rotating stock maps and one new Maze-eur by deQe ( krctf01 ) which is only 1.2 mb + downloading is enabled.

Yes, it seems that new map is buggy. We will replace it, but i want to see it crash again. I updated server check to restart servers in case of errors like that, and to restore map rotations if needed.

OK, i added 2 other maps. In case of server errors i enabled logging so we will see what's going on...

These have my vote for CTF maps (not sure if these are all ctf capable)
- 13gate_xt
- krctf01
- bunker_ctf1
- zv4q3 (little q1 for q3... would prefer gravity normal)
- mg_final

dont think these would work well in vogon-style ctf
- q3shw24
- q3q1dm4

I am still testing something around those 2 (3) maps. Did you notice anything weird, any game crashes? Because it makes no sense. Mod itself is stable, we had many custom maps before. After i added krctf01 it crashed. Now i am rotating 2 new maps to see if they will produce same error, but i think it's safe to say something was wrong with that map.

Dyn... i am not sure if that was the map days ago when I tried to jump on before svr went down... but i thought it may have crashed on that map... but not 100% sure.
As far as I can see though the two you have now are working great. Bunker takes some getting used to but its worth it... good gameplay on that one.

Bunker map can be intense with 4+ players. There is also FFA edition, which is older than CTF one. Server was logging everything for the past 12+ hours and there are absolutely no errors. I will add krctf01 back just to see if it will crash again.

To be fair I thought we were trying to bring back old players and fill the server with new players, this will not do it. They will not download the maps the sever will be empty and no one will play on ctf with respect.The Ctf players have got to be honest with you Dyn and tell you the truth, your a ffa man just see what happens, there ffa maps to be honest I’ll go there everyday but no one will be playing I bet.

We will only add few maps we tested and not all at once. That way we can compensate for Q3 dumb download system which is too slow to be useful for more than a few small maps. Another alternative is to use map pack or no maps at all.

I would like to ad, I like the maps, with the old mixed in, But for the hook both should increase, It seems to take to long to grab and pulls way to slow. But just glad to get to play. Thanks a Million

Hey guys.. yes, I agree with all about the hook.
It is way too slow... before it was set to "instant gratification" and now it doesnt reach all the way across CTF4 rail stations and you have to fire ahead when falling because it goes so slow coming out and pulls slow as well. I dont know how sensitive it is but I would double it. :)
Grapple was fast before... and would spice it up for sure.

Im picturing the football asylum theme from Ace Ventura where he does the slow-mo instant replay...

OK, but keep in mind old pull speed was 2800, only hook firing speed was reduced to 4000. Pull speed was INCREASED from 2800 to 3000. Now it's 10000/3200, i think you will find it faster. Too fast pull speed is not recommended, while fire speed can be ultra fast.
