Whaoh... great post. You have to be kidding .... it is STILL in production?
They should be ashamed. With that well detailed list of history and they couldnt even get the game completed (or apparently had no 'incentive' too).

Nice.... so much for chewin bubble gum and kickin arse!

Peace,
Doppio :knight:

i read that they gonna stop the project but... well i let it explain for itself

Mostly known for creating and developing the Duke Nukem games series, 3D Realms is closing doors and letting its employees out.

Back in 1997, 3D Realms announced that it has started working on Duke Nukem Forever, a sequel to its classic first person shooter, Duke Nukem 3D. Duke Nukem Forever has since been delayed repeatedly and, with the studio finally closing down, it seems that its 12 years long development span has ended for good.

Duke Nukem Forever publisher , Take Two Interactive, issued an official statement stating that their "relationship with 3D Realms for Duke Nukem Forever was a publishing arrangement, which did not include ongoing funds for development of the title. In addition, Take-Two continues to retain the publishing rights to Duke Nukem Forever."

Deep Silver and Apogee Software also issued an official statement reaffirming that they are not affected by the situation at 3D Realms, and that development on the Duke Nukem Trilogy is continuing as planned. Duke Nukem Trilogy is a Nintendo DS and PSP platformer compilation of Duke Nukem: Chain Reaction, Duke Nukem: Critical Mass and Duke Nukem: Proving Grounds.

It's harder and harder to make a good game when you hype it too much. We could just start calling it Duketana.

I'm still waiting for Duke Nukem 4D, but I gotta say, I don't pay attention to the release dates anymore. I gave up really. Early on, there would be a release date given, then on that date, the N64 game was released. Or on another release date, the PSX version came out. Once I realised their pattern, I stopped caring.

Who wants to organize a gang to go to their place and start a rumble? I bet a lot of people would join up.

What is sad? The fact that we could make a game or it has taken them this long to release a game? Forever seems appropriate. Too bad their hype hasn't made them worth a shit in the gaming industry for any of their other (if any) games.

The only game I ever bought into the hype about was Spore. After playing it up to the Tribal stage and hearing my majestic, badass-looking creature making grunty-caveman noises, I put it down and haven't touched it since.

I also haven't gotten hyped about a game since then; I deal with games the same way I deal with books. I wait until they're finished, and then evaluate whether they're worth my time. :)

Daikatana II :-D

It was announced in Feb 1998, 2+ years before Daikatana was released ( Apr 2000 ). But, compared to DNF, this project was abandoned.
