Anything about Call of Duty 4 - live status of all COD4 servers

I tried to invite some of my friends to play on the COD4 server, but they couldn't because they are on Steam and it's on version 1.8 and the ARES Chaos CRK is on version 1.7
Am I missing something?

Basically the patch is on Steam only and all server's are Modded. Lots of downloading. :sceptic:
